Yutaka Hatta

Biography

1930
Born in Fukui, Japan.
1951
Graduated from Kanazawa College of Art.
Studied under Hidetaro Tsuchioka.
Became a member of the Hokubi Bunka Kyōkai (Hokubi Cultural Association) (The first time to participate in The 5th Hokubi Art Exhibition).
1956
Became a member of the Sōgen-kai (The first time to participate in The 12th Sōgen-kai Art Exhibition in 1953).
1963
Left the Sōgen-kai.
1980
His eyesight started to deteriorate, and this disrupted his artistic practice. Then, he lost his faculty of sight in the 1980s.
1983-92
As the leading member of committee of the “Paper Works of Contemporary Art, IMADATE”. Devoted himself to its management.
1993 -
Established the “TANNAN Art Festival” in Takefu, Fukui. Later, it was renamed to “International TANNAN Art Festival” and has
been held every year until 2019.
